Content Description The collection consists of books, correspondence related to the restoration of the Gadsby portraits painted by John Gadsby Chapman, and material related to Dickman's works.
Scope and Contents This collection contains around 100 photographs featuring Alexandria residents, events, and organizations. The photos feature early Alexandria fire departments and events such as the Smoot Lumberyard fire, as well as colonial re-enactments, the 1st Virginia Infantry, and the American Legion.
Content Description Reports, minutes, correspondence, and surveys documenting HAF's formation, relationships to other volunteer organizations, and more than three decades of HAF's preservation projects and concerns.
